Silver Plating

Silver Plating

Silver plating deposits a thin layer of pure silver on to a base metal, most commonly copper, brass or nickel-plated parts. Silver has the highest electrical and thermal conductivity of any metal, which makes it a preferred finish for components where performance and reliability matter. At Balambiga Metal Finishers, we provide silver plating for both functional and decorative applications.

KeyBenefits

Highest conductivity:

Excellent electrical and thermal performance, with very low contact resistance.

Good solderability:

Makes joining and assembly easier.

Corrosion resistance:

Protects the base metal from oxidation and chemical attack.

Low friction:

Useful for sliding contacts and bearing surfaces.

Reflectivity and appearance:

A bright, attractive white finish for decorative and optical uses.

Antimicrobial properties:

Silver surfaces naturally inhibit bacterial growth.

Silver can tarnish over time when exposed to sulphur in the air, so an anti-tarnish treatment can be applied where long-term appearance or contact performance is important.
