Copper Plating

Copper Plating

Copper plating deposits a layer of pure copper on to metal components  using an electrolytic process. Copper’s outstanding electrical and thermal conductivity, combined with its softness and excellent adhesion, makes it one of the most versatile and widely used finishes in manufacturing. At Balambiga Metal Finishers, we apply copper plating
both as a standalone finish and as an underlayer for other coatings.

KeyBenefits

Excellent conductivity:

Improves electrical and thermal performance of parts.

Strong underlayer:

Provides a smooth, adherent base for nickel, tin, silver, and chromium plating, improving the finish and adhesion of the top coat.

Good ductility:

The soft deposit tolerates forming and bending.

Corrosion protection as part of a system:

Works with nickel and other toplayers to protect the base metal.

Selective protection:

Can be used as a stop-offlayer to mask are as during heat treatment such as carburizing or nitriding.

Decorative appeal:

Gives a warm, attractive finish on its own, Often lacquered to prevent tarnishing.
